KSBY-TV is the NBC affiliate in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties and made its on-air debut in May of 1953.It went on the air, however, as KVEC-TV. The VEC call letters stood for Valley Electric Company.
KVEC-TV was the first local television station built in the Central Coast of California. Originally, the station carried all three television networks: NBC, CBS & ABC.
KSBY is on the air in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo, broadcasting a digital signal providing NBC high-definition and The CW network standard-definition programs.
A VHF or all-channel antenna connected to a digital-to-analog converter box or to a digital-ready television is required to receive the new signal. If you are already set up to receive a digital broadcast all that is necessary is to re-scan channels on your converter box or television.
If you are in any area in northern Santa Barbara County or San Luis Obispo County, you will need a UHF antenna.
At KSBY we have been getting results for Central Coast advertisers since 1953. We're confident we can make television advertising work for just about any business, big or small. >> Click here and start advertising with us today
