Kids may get a kick out of K-9's in the Park this weekend

This Saturday the The Atascadero Police Department K9 Unit will be staging "K-9s in the Park" from 11am to 3pm at the Atascadero Lake Park.

Woman arrested after car chase, and it's not the first time

Atascadero Police arrested a woman Tuesday night who they say led them on a chase through the city.

UPDATE: Homeless man found dead in storage unit identified

The Coroner's Unit of the San Obispo County Sheriff's Office has identified the man found dead in a storage unit in Atascadero on Saturday as James Amundson, 59.
An autopsy is planned for Thursday.
Atascadero Police say no foul play is suspected in Amundson's death.
They say it appeared he had been living in the storage unit at Atascadero Mini Storage on El Camino Real, and his body had been there for a few days before it was discovered.

Charles Paddock Zoo teaches guests about wilderness and sweets
