Small changes to your lifestyle could have a big impact on your risk for stroke.
Researchers at the University of Vermont studied more than 20,000 Americans, age 45 and older. Each patient received a score based on how many healthy lifestyle factors they followed, like not smoking, keeping their blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol under control.
They found for every 1 point increase towards better health, the risk for stroke went down 8%.
