US military plane crashes in Kyrgyzstan

Syrian PM escapes assassination attempt

DAMASCUS, Syria (AP) - Syria's prime minister has escaped an assassination attempt today.

State media say a bomb went off near his convoy in the capital, Damascus.

A Syrian government official says the bomb was placed under a car was detonated when the prime minister's car drove by. He was not hurt.
