Judge orders retrial in prison guard shooting

A judge Wednesday ordered a new trial for Timothy McNally, a former Lompoc prison guard charged with the shooting death of another prison guard at a Lompoc motel in 2012.
In April, a mistrial was declared in McNally's case after the jury was unable to reach a verdict.

Drug Take Back Program

Lompoc Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration are teaming up to buy back prescription drugs.
The prescriptions can be dropped off at the Lompoc Police Department, which is located at 107 Civic Center Plaza.
The service is free and anonymous.
Last year, the DEA took in nearly 500 tons of pills nationally in the drug take back program.

Lompoc Police make arrests in assault case

Lompoc Police arrested two people on Thursday in connection to an assault that happened in March.
