Bike to work week kicks off in San Luis Obispo County Monday.
From now through Friday, teams of up to 10 people are encouraged to compete in SLO Regional Rideshare's Bike to Work Week competition.

Cuesta College hosted a 5K race Saturday as part of its 50th anniversary celebration.
The run benefits the college's Kinesiology and Recreation Departments, as well as its Children's Center.
The 5K was open to runners age 10 and older. The race course started at the Cuesta Track and took runners through the older part of campus and down Hollister Road.
There was also a Cougar Kids Fun Run and Diaper Dash for the younger runners.

Penny's All American Café is holding its 4th annual Pancake Eating Contest.
The event is a fundraiser for the SLO Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo County.
It's happening Saturday at 3 p.m. at Penny's,1053 Price St. in Pismo Beach.

The California Highway Patrol says one lane of Highway 101 North is closed near the San Luis Bay Drive offramp near San Luis Obispo because of an RV on fire on the side of the road.
