Search dogs have become a valuable tool in disaster situations, often helping search for people who have been buried alive or lost. Now, a local search dog foundation is getting some help.

A resident found a "Panga" Boat on Arroyo Quemada Beach, north of Refugio State Beach, around 8:15AM on May 17th. Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office Patrol Deputies, along with Narcotics Investigators, responded and located the 35-foot boat on the beach.

A small vegitation fire was quickly contained after breaking out around 11:30 Tuesday morning in Los Olivos in Santa Barbara County.
It happened in a grazed horse corral at the 2900 block of Brinkerhoff Road.
The fire spread 2.2 acres and no structures were damaged despite previous reports.
Firefighters have found the cause to be from a lawnmower.

Two people are behind bars after a carjacking in Santa Maria.
It happened Sunday around 3:35 a.m. near Boone and Thornburg.
Santa Maria Police say a victim from Santa Maria came to the police station and told officers two people carjacked them at gunpoint.
