Local and state agencies will be participating in an emergency drill Wednesday for Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant.
The exercise helps prepare the agencies for a serious emergency at Diablo.
There will be simulated emergency communications over radios and telephones, but the early warning system sirens and emergency alert system will not be used.

The California Highway Patrol says Highway 154 is closed Tuesday morning due to a non-injury traffic accident in the area.
The accident happened around 5 a.m. on Highway 154 near Painted Cave Road.

PG&E says a broken crossarm on a power pole in Santa Maria has left 235 customers without power Monday morning.
The outage started around 12:15 a.m.
The power pole is located in the 400 block of Rose Avenue.
PG&E says power is expected to be fully restored by 9 a.m.

Now that the White Fire is out, portions of the Los Padres National Forest will be reopening Saturday.
Portions of the White Rock and First Crossing Day Use Areas as well as the Fremont, Paradise and Los Prietos campgrounds will reopen.
Paradise Road will be open to the public from the Highway 154 intersection to the First Crossing.

Los Padres National Forest law enforcement officials and the Santa Barbara County District Attorney's office have determined the cause of the White Fire that broke on Memorial Day.

The Santa Barbara County Fire Department says the White Fire, which burned nearly 2,000 acres east of Lake Cachuma, is 100% contained.
The fire started on Memorial Day along Paradise Road.
Fire officials say crews at the scene are being demobilized, but those who remain will work on holding the fire line and conducting mop up.
The cost of fighting the fire is estimated at $2,890,000.
