The Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to an aircraft down near the Santa Ynez Valley Airport.
Around 8:00 a.m. Sunday a pilot needed help landing his small aircraft because of heavy cloud cover.
He thought he was going to be able to glide the aircraft to the runway.
Firefighters say they located the aircraft one mile southwest of the airport.
When they found him, he was standing outside of the aircraft.
There were no injuries.
