    Car fire along Highway 101 near Nipomo back up traffic

    A car fire along Highway 101 near Nipomo is backing up traffic. CHP reported a vehicle on the side of the road was engulfed in flames around 9pm, which then spread to the nearby hillside. The fire is between Los Berros Road and Laetitia Vineyard & Winery. Our crew on scene reports fire crews have been able to put out the flames. We have a crew on scene and will update this story as more information becomes available.

    The San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors will continue a discussion later this week about where marijuana can be grown. On Tuesday, supervisors discussed the possibility of banning marijuana cultivation in the California Valley and limiting the number of cultivation sites to 50. Supervisor Adam Hill said the agenda item was suspended because not all of the supervisors could stay past 5 p.m. Tuesday.

    The San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors will continue a discussion later this week about where marijuana can be grown. Modeling shows the disturbance tracking toward the Central Coast but also diminishing in intensity. Regardless there is a threat for showers and thunderstorms.     Forward progress of a vehicle fire that spread to nearby vegetation along Highway 166 has been stopped, according to CAL FIRE. The fire reported started at about 12:46 p.m. just west of Tepesquet Road.  The California Highway Patrol reported the vehicle was engulfed and nearby brush and a tree were also on fire.  Traffic was reportedly backing up in the area and the road was said to be blocked. About a quarter-acre of vegetation burned, according to CAL FIRE.
