More than 450 local Special Olympic athletes will be at Cuesta College Friday for the annual Spring Regional Games area meet.
Athletes will compete in everything from aquatics and track and field, to basketball and bocce.
Opening ceremonies begin in the college's gymnasium at 9:30 a.m.
The competition is from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A time capsule is being buried at Cuesta College in honor of the school's 50th anniversary, and the community is invited to attend.
The capsule was built by students in the college's welding program and includes various planning and accreditation documents, along with other items of significance to the college this year.
The burial is happening at Cougar Park on the San Luis Obispo campus at 1:30 p.m.
The capsule will be dug up in 25 years.

A lot of long-time central coast locals are mourning the loss of a community leader this week. Jeff Williams was killed earlier this month when the motorcycle he was riding on highway 154 was hit by a SUV driven by a 17-year-old boy.
