    Red Flag Warning prompts increase in fire staffing

    A Red Flag Warning is in effect for parts of the Central Coast and local fire agencies have increased staffing in response.

    The warning is in effect from 6:00 am, June 19 to 10:00 am, June 20 for Santa Barbara, Ventura and Los Angeles Counties.

    Fire officials investigating cause of fire at home in Goleta

    Santa Barbara County Fire officials are investigating the cause of a fire at a home in Goleta on Thursday.

    Fire officials say the flames broke out in a shed behind the home on the 6200 block of Momouth Avenue around 6:20 pm.

    The shed was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. They say it spread to one room of the home before they were able to get a handle on the fire.

    No one was hurt.

    Big rig crashes, sparks grass fire

    A big rig crashed on Highway 101, just south of San Miguel on Tuesday, sparking a small grass fire.

    It happened at around 3:15.

    CAL FIRE officials say the fire burned about a 100x100 foot section of grass.

    Santa Barbara County Fire officials say a fire that broke out Monday near Calle Mariposa Reina in Gaviota was accidental.

    They say it was most likely related to a passing train.

    The fire burned about two acres.

    Small vegetation fire in Lompoc

    A small vegetation fire has broken out in Lompoc on Thursday afternoon.

    It's at the 6000 block of Highway 1, located on the south side of the road.

    Fire officials say it's about 6 to 8 acres and is spreading at a moderate rate.

    Small vegetation fire breaks out near Isla Vista

    Firefighters responded to a small vegetation fire in Isla Vista early Monday morning.

    The fire broke out around 12:40 a.m. in the 6800 block of El Colegio Road.

    According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the fire burned less than a quarter of an acre and burned slowly because of the fog.

    The cause is under investigation.

    Vandenberg Air Force Base firefighters and crews from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department are on the scene of a vegetation fire on base property.

    It broke out around 5:00 pm on Monday near the base's picnic grounds.

    Fire officials say it has burned between 5 and 7 acres.

    Los Padres National Forest officials say the Branch Fire in California Valley has grown to 515 acres.

    It is currently 85% contained and full containment is expected by Monday night.

    The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

    The fire broke out in rural California Valley Saturday afternoon.

    There have been no reports of structure damage or injuries.

    CAL FIRE officials say the Branch Fire in California Valley has grown to 400 acres.

    The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

    The fire broke out in rural California Valley Saturday afternoon.

    There have been no reports of structure damage or injuries.
