    Firefighters battling small brush fire near Santa Ynez

    The Santa Barbara County Fire Department has crews battling a small brush fire that broke out shortly before 1:30p.m. Friday.

    The fire is approximately one and a half acres, on Happy Canyon Road near Figueroa Mountain Road.

    Small brush fire contained in Goleta

    Firefighters quickly contained a brush fire in Goleta Monday.

    The fire started just after 1:00p.m. where Glen Annie Road meets the foothills.

    Santa Barbara County Fire says around a quarter of an acre of brush burned before crews contained the fire around 1:20p.m.

    Downed live power lines and a west facing, steep slope made the operation more difficult.

    The exact cause of the fire is under investigation.

    CAL FIRE responding to report of fire in Morro Bay

    CAL FIRE says it has one engine assisting the Morro Bay Fire Department with a report of a motor home on fire.

    The fire started around 11:00a.m. on Embarcadero. KSBY News has a crew on the way to the scene and will bring you more information as soon as it becomes available.

    Prescribed burns scheduled through May in Morro Bay

    You may see smoke over Morro Bay for the next few months.

    Morro Bay firefighters say they will be burning dead, downed and diseased fuels to help decrease the potential for wildfires.

    The fire department says prescribed burns also enhance the health of native plant species and hekp control pests.

    The burning will take place at Morro Bay State Park now through May 1.

    Firefighters battling small vegetation fire near Lopez Lake

    CAL FIRE crews, with help from the Los Padres National Forest Service, are battling a small vegetation fire burning near Lopez Lake.

    The fire started before noon Thursday off Ditmas Road. That's near High Mountain Road on the south side of the lake.

    So far, flames have spread about one-quarter of an acre and one structure is threatened, according to CAL FIRE.
