The DMV says all of its services have been restored and field offices are back online.
Services at offices across the state were limited Tuesday morning because of communication problems with AT&T and Verizon, according to the DMV.
Most people who showed up at DMV offices were given next-day appointments.

People who arrive at the Department of Motor Vehicles Tuesday are being given next-day appointments because computers are down.
The DMV is saying that all computers in California are not working.
The only appointments that will be conducted at this time are driving test. Any other appointment that is scheduled for Tuesday will be delayed for at least one day.
DMV does not know what caused the system to go down. There is currently no estimated time when the computer system will be restored.
