Denver Chavez has overcome a slew of injuries throughout his career at Cal Poly to become a Big West 1st Team selection as a senior. Kristina Santiago accomplished everything but winning a championship as a basketball player on the Central Coast. In her first season as a pro, Santiago won two titles. The former Righetti Warrior and Cal Poly Mustang had a great season with the Dunav Blue Fairies of the Bulgarian League.

The job of a lead-off man in baseball is to get on, nobody on the Central Coast does that better than Templeton's Michael Frigon. The senior is batting .536 and has an on-base percentage of .624. Cal Poly star Laura Hollander will look to continue her historic freshman year this weekend at the Big West Conference Track and Field Championships at Northridge. Hollander is the latest athlete deemed by KSBY a legend in the making.

82 year old Bill Cotnam is San Luis Obispo High School's biggest fan and has been for some time. Cotnam doesn't just support the varsity athletes, he goes to freshman and junior varsity games as well. His support for the school earned him the nickname, "Tiger Bill" in the early 1990's.

Madison Jacobs established herself as one of the best discus throwers and shot putters in the state last year but now in her senior season, she has some unfinished business. Dating back to her days at Mission Prep, Jordan Hasay has always competed in races between 1,500 meters and 5,000 meters. The 21st ranked Cal Poly baseball team opens Big West Conference play Thursday at home against UC Davis. Ace pitcher Joey Wagman will start for the Mustangs. The senior has the ninth most wins in program history and is this week's Legend in the Making.

The Cal Poly women's basketball team will make its first ever trip to the National Tournament on Sunday. The floor leader for the Mustangs is the teams smallest player, Jonae Ervin.
