It was a battle of the top two girls basketball teams in the Los Padres League on Friday night. Templeton had a chance to pull into a tie with Morro Bay but the Eagles lost at home, 43-38. The Pirates stay perfect in the league and clinch a second straight L.P.L. title.

Templeton junior Andy Garretson scored 24 points as the Eagles beat first place Morro Bay 59-33 in Morro Bay on Friday night. With the win Templeton moves to 7-3 in the Los Padres League. Morro Bay drops to 8-2, both of the Pirates losses have come against the Eagles.

Cal Fire is on scene of a shed fire at a home near the intersection of El Morro Avenue and Eighth Street. That is next to Baywood Elementary.
It appears the fire is nearly contained, but Cal Fire still has units on scene.

Donald Baker's attorney is calling his current condition "morose."
Baker is scheduled to be sentenced for 11 felony sex crimes against children on Monday.

Call it a lesson in re-gifting.
A local brother and sister just turned their Christmas presents into a gift for two local charities.
Ella, 3 and 5-year-old Kaleb Simonin both received $100 under the tree from their aunt, but the gift was also wrapped up with a lesson in sharing.
