The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office says a 30 foot long boat was found at six Wednesday morning on the shore south of Refugio Beach.
The sheriff's office says there was evidence the boat had been used to smuggle illicit drugs. Panga boats are often used to transport illegal immigrants and narcotics from Mexico to the United States.

There was another cliff rescue Wednesday afternoon in Shell Beach. Rescue crews were able to reach a man who fell off a cliff around 3:15 p.m.
It happened near a park along Ocean Boulevard at the intersection of Cuyama Street. Cal Fire says he fell about 15 feet, but it was near some stairs, making it easier for rescuers to reach him.
Last Friday a man fell in the same area, and a woman fell over a cliff near Dinosaur Caves last month.

The next generation of environmentalists is hard at work in local schools.
Cal Poly and UC Santa Barbara students are teaming up to mentor students in first and second grade classrooms around the area.
