In true Labor Day Weekend tradition, hundreds of people gathered in Avila Beach this afternoon to say farewell to summer with a tune or two.
It was the 19th Annual Pops by the Sea music festival, or Pops a la Playa as it was being called this year. The end of summer extravaganza took on a fiesta vibe and was hosted by Univision's Mayra Zavala. The San Luis Obispo Symphony and some other artists provided the tunes.
It's a family event that keeps people coming back each year.
"I love being outside, I love the music. It's always familiar, it's songs that my kids can dance to and I can dance to," said Paula Walker of San Luis Obispo.
The event is held each year at the Avila Beach Golf Course. People are invited to bring a chair, pack up a picnic and take a seat on the grass to enjoy the show.
