1 arrested, 1 suspect outstanding in connection with armed robbery

A San Luis Obispo man is arrested in connection with an armed robbery, but officers say his partner in crime is still outstanding.

The San Luis Obispo Police Department says at about 10:00p.m. on February 6th, an armed robbery happened near the corner of Marsh and Nipomo Streets in San Luis Obispo. They say two suspects drove up to the victim in a white Mercedes, pointed a shotgun at him and demanded cash. The victim handed over some money, and the suspects fled the scene.

Detectives say they identified the suspects of the armed robbery as 31-year-old Robert Pelz and 31-year-old Jason Atkins. Then Tuesday, they executed a search warrant at Pelz's home in the 800 block of Calle Del Caminos. Officers believed the shotgun used in the armed robbery would be found in that home.

Officers say they arrested Pelz following the search of his home. They say a shotgun believed to be the one used in the armed robbery was found in the home.

The other suspect, Jason Atkins, remains outstanding with a $100,000 warrant out for his arrest. Officers say he is a Los Osos resident. Anyone who may know his whereabouts is asked to call the San Luis Obispo Police Departent at (805) 781-7317.
