A woman involved in a deadly crash that has closed part of Highway 101 in Santa Barbara is under arrest, accused of driving under the influence, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP says around 12:45 a.m., a 2005 red Mazda heading south on Highway 101 in Santa Barbara, north of Castillo Street, hit the guardrail, causing the vehicle to flip and land on its roof in one of the lanes.
Moments later, CHP says a 2013 white Ford Mustang driven by Kimberly Ann Kreis, 52, from Santa Barbara hit the Mazda, ejecting two people.
CHP says three people died in the crash, and one is in critical condition. Their names have not been released.
Kreis was arrested on suspicion of DUI and booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail.
CHP says traffic is still being diverted at the southbound Castillo offramp Monday morning.
Drivers can get back on the freeway using the Castillo onramp.
The accident is under investigation.
