150 local campers make flutes for children around the world

150 Local Campers are using their summer vacation to make flutes for kids across the world.

The kids at Circle V Ranch at Lake Cachuma are making flutes for children in Haiti. They're being lead by award-winning musician, John Zeretzke. Each camper is making two flutes, one to keep, and one to send to the children in Haiti.

"I feel like we're making a difference. It's something different because usually people focus on food or other or stuff like that. Some kids just need to have fun they need a toy just to see that people care for them," said Javon Jones, Camp Counselor.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul runs the Circle V Ranch Camp, which hosts the "Flutes Across the World Program." There are still openings for August camp sessions and scholarships are available.
