The United Way of Santa Barbara County says its 15th annual Red Feather Ball was a success.
The gala is meant to raise money for the United Way's United for Literacy programs. This year's ball raised $260,000 for those programs.
Some very special people and organizations also received accolades for their longtime community involvement, by being awarded the 2011 Abercrombie Community Excellence Award. This year's recipients are: Eric, Ron and Marlyn Boehm and ABC-CLIO; along with Mario and David Borgatello and Marborg Industries.
