2 arrested during Lompoc checkpoint Friday night

As law enforcement agencies across California crack down on people driving under the influence this holiday season, Lompoc Police say one person was arrested at a DUI and driver's license checkpoint in the city on Friday night.

Police say of the 354 driver's that passed through the checkpoint, which was held in the 200 block of East Ocean Avenue, two people were driving on a suspended license, one person was driving without a valid license, and two vehicles were towed for a 30-day hold.

Five people were evaluated for driving under the influence.

Along with the one DUI arrest, police say they also made one other miscellaneous arrest.
