2 dead after shooting suspect crashes car in SF

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Police say two people are dead and a third critically injured after a shooting suspect fleeing police crashed his car in San Francisco.

The San Francisco Police Department said officers pulled over a car in the city's Mission District on Tuesday morning while investigating reported gunshots at a housing project.

Police said the suspect drove away as an officer approached the car, and broadsided a car two blocks away before a pursuit even began.

Killed were a pedestrian and a female passenger in the parked; police said the victim driver suffered life-threatening injuries. All three were in their 20s.

Police the male suspect survived the crash, and authorities were planning to file charges related to the deaths and gun possession.

Neither the suspect nor victims were identified by police.
