EUREKA, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say two people are dead and a 16-year-old boy is missing after they were swept into the ocean in Humboldt County Saturday afternoon.

The Times-Standard reports (http://bit.ly/SjknFk ) the three were pulled into the water by waves at Big Lagoon, about 32 miles north of Eureka around 12:40 p.m. Saturday.

Humboldt County sheriff's officials say the two people who died were a man and a woman. They were pronounced dead at the scene. Their names have not been released, but authorities believe the missing teen is the son of the two adults.
