20-year-old booked into jail after crash on Highway 154

Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Deputies arrest a man they say attacked a woman at a local elementary school, stole her car, and then caused a three-car crash.

The crash happened just before 2 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 154, just north of San Antonio Creek Road.

Deputies say 20-year-old Zachary Ulrick hit a woman with a skateboard at Solvang School before stealing her keys and driving off in her car.

Deputies chased him on Highway 154 until he smashed head-on into a truck.

A third vehicle crashed as a result. No one was seriously hurt.

Ulrick was arrested on various charges including robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.
