2nd Annual Making Strides event kicks off

People gathered at Madonna Inn on Saturday to do their part in helping to support the fight against breast cancer.
Participants at the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event were encouraged to join teams for the upcoming walk, meet survivors, and find out how the money they donate is helping with cancer research.
Last year's event exceeded their goals with 35 teams raising more than $37,000.
Organizers say they are hopeful that this year's event will do even better.
The second annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk will take place at Mission Plaza in San Luis Obispo on October 27 at 8 a.m.
