SAN LEANDRO, Calif. (AP) - Authorities have identified a second suspect in the Black Friday shooting of a man outside a San Leandro Walmart.
Police said on Tuesday that 29-year-old Detwone Watson of Oakland shot Christopher Murillo in the neck in the store's parking lot around 1:50 a.m. Friday.
Watson and three other men allegedly demanded money from the 21-year-old Murillo and his cousins and tried to grab a gold chain from one of them, prompting a fight.
Murillo and his cousins were at Walmart to buy a video game.
A second suspect, 20-year-old Tony Phillips of Oakland, was detained at the scene. He has been charged with attempted murder and attempted robbery.
The two other suspects have not been named.
San Leandro police say Murillo has been released from the hospital and is recovering at home.
