DOWNEY, Calif. (AP) - Police say five members of the same family were shot and three of them died Wednesday in connected attacks at a business and residence in a Los Angeles suburb.
Downey police Lt. Dean Milligan says the shootings occurred at a business called United States Fire Protection Services and at a nearby home, where family members of the owner lived.
Two other shooting victims, including a 13-year-old boy, were in critical but stable condition at hospitals.
It's unclear how all the victims were related.
Milligan says police are looking for a gunman who apparently escaped in a black Camaro that belonged to a victim or a victim's family member.
Milligan says the shooter was unknown to the surviving victims. The motive isn't yet clear, but police have ruled out a random attack.
