3 Giants and Kemp voted starters, All-Star Game rosters unveiled

For the first time since 2001, three San Francisco Giants were voted into the Major League All-Star Game as starting position players. MLB released the starters for the 83rd All-Star Game on July 10 at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City. Pablo Sandoval, Buster Posey and Melky Cabrera will start and represent the Giants.

Matt Kemp was voted in as a starter in the National League. However, his status for the game is doubtful because of a hamstring injury that's kept him on the disabled list for the last few weeks. Dodgers' ace Clayton Kershaw and San Francisco's Matt Cain were two of 13 pitchers named to the NL team that will be managed by Tony LaRussa.

San Diego's lone representative in the Mid-Summer Classic will be pitcher Huston Street.

The Angels will send four players to Kansas City. Pitchers Jered Weaver and C.J. Wilson, as well as star outfielders Mark Trumbo and Mike Trout were named All-Stars on Sunday. The AL team will be managed by the Rangers' Ron Washington.
