SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) - The search is resuming for three hikers who vanished over the weekend while climbing a peak in the San Bernardino Mountains.
Authorities on Tuesday plan to use helicopters and searchers on foot and horseback to look for Ryan Shankles, David Yoder and Miguel De La Torre.
The men set out on Sunday to hike to the top of Mount San Gorgonio, the highest peak in Southern California at around 11,500 feet.
A fourth hiker who turned back reported them missing. A search through Monday failed to find them.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department says the men are experienced hikers who carried food and water.
