4-H Troop Makes Toys for Rescue Cats

A group of local kids is donating handmade toys to the Cal Poly Cat Shelter.

The Los Osos Chapter of 4-H donated homemade cat toys to the Cal Poly Cat Program Sunday at PetSmart in San Luis Obispo.

The kids say it's rewarding to see the cats having fun and playing with the toys they made.

"We got feathers and catnip and stuff we thought cats would like, and we just got creative and made cat toys that we thought the cats would enjoy," says Ellie Amesse, a 4-H troop member.

After playing with the cats, the kids were given a special tour of the pet store, which works with the Cat Program to get the cats into new homes.
