OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - A weekend of violence in Oakland has pushed the number of homicides in the city this year past last year's number.
Police say two women were shot to death on an East Oakland street around 6 a.m. Sunday. The names of the two women, or any other details of the double homicide, have not been released.
On Saturday, police say two people were killed in separate shootings. An 18-year-old woman was shot to death around 7 a.m. and a 19-year-old man died in a hospital after being shot several times around 3 p.m. Their names have not been released.
No arrests have been made in any of the weekend shootings.
The Oakland Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/U62l85 ) there have been 115 homicides in the Oakland so far this year, five more than all of last year.
