A major headache for commuters traveling on Highway 101 south to San Luis Obispo Wednesday morning.

California Highway Patrol officer Mike Muell tells KSBY News a five car crash has traffic backing up on the freeway. That crash happened at about 7:55 a.m. Tuesday, just north of where Highway 101 and State Route 58 meet. Officers say one of the vehicles involved in the crash was badly damaged, and a tow truck is now working to pull the vehicle off of the highway so crews can re-open one of the lanes of the highway. There is no estimated time that all lanes will be reopened.

The CHP says some of those involved in the crash are only reporting minor injuries. They say it's not clear what caused the crash.
