OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - Police are searching for the person who left five people wounded following a late-night shooting outside a movie theater in Oakland's popular Jack London Square.
Officer J. Moore said Monday that one male victim is in stable condition following surgery from the shooting that occurred shortly before 9:30 p.m. Sunday outside the Regal Cinemas Jack London Stadium 9 theater.
Police said three of the victims were taken to a local hospital in cars and a fourth was taken by ambulance. All suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Sgt. Daniel Ming said Sunday that the suspect apparently began firing from the middle of the street in front of the crowded theater located just a few blocks from Oakland Police's downtown headquarters.
Police believe the shooting stemmed from an argument between two groups. No arrests have been made and no suspect information has been released.
