A 69-year-old man is in critical condition after an altercation with his neighbor.
Grover Beach Police Officers were called out to the 300 block of Beckett Street around 1:40 p.m. Sunday afternoon for a report of an assault in progress.
Officers arrived on scene and found a 69-year-old man who was not breathing and had no pulse.
The officer initiated CPR as more officers arrived at the scene.
Investigators were able to determine that the victim and his 32-year-old son had gotten in a fight with their 54-year-old neighbor, Jerry Odom.
During the fight, Odom assaulted both men and knocked them to the ground. The 69-year-old went into cardiac arrest and was taken to a local area hospital. He is listed in critical condition.
The identities of the victims have not been released pending notification of their family.
Odom was booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, elder abuse, and battery. His bail is set at $50,000.
