7 run inning dooms Arroyo Grande baseball, Eagles lose 7-2 in second round

A seven run fourth inning by host Temecula Valley doomed the Arroyo Grande High baseball team. The Eagles lost a CIF Division 2 second round game 9-2 at the home of the number two seed.

The Pac-7 League co-champions finished the season 19-7-3 overall.

The Eagles led 1-0 after Chris Davidson led off the fourth with a triple and scored on a sacrifice fly from Zach Brown.

Left-handed pitcher Kyle Brown was cruising through three innings for the Eagles. But Temecula Valley roughed him up for 7 runs to take a commanding 7-1 lead.

AG recorded 5 hits total, 2 from Davidson. The Eagles added another run on a RBI from Garrett Ball in the sixth inning, but the comeback stopped there.

Temecula Valley improved to 21-5 and moved on to Friday's quarterfinals.
