A lifelong Central Coast wine grape grower is being honored by his peers for his dedication to sustainable farming.
Dana Merrill was honored as the 2012 Paso Robles Wine Industry Person of the Year.
Merrill is a 7th generation Californian whose family has roots in the Central Coast dating back to the days of the missions.
He began raising wine grapes in 1981. He is also a Cal Poly alum.
