A local hospital addresses coping with long term health conditions

Arroyo Grande Community Hospital has a program for those coping with or caring for patients with long-term diseases.

It is a six-part education series called "Healthier Living: Your Life, Take Care."

Every Thursday starting July 22 and ending September 2 from 1:00 -to- 3:30 p.m. topics will be covered such as "how to manage symptoms", "depression management" and "appropriate use of medications."

Materials for the workshops consist of the book "Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions" and an audiotape for relaxation of mind and body, which may be borrowed or purchased from the hospital.
