A proposed medical marijuana dispensary causing controversy in Nipomo

It's a hot topic on the Central Coast and now it's being discussed in Nipomo. Robert Brody of Los Angeles is proposing a medical marijuana dispensary a few blocks from the community's swap meet. He's looking at a 4,000-square-foot vacant warehouse and office building at 425B North Frontage Road and Linden Lane. Brent Gross of Carmel owns the property.

Some Nipomo residents are trying to fight the attempt. The proposal is scheduled to go before the South County Advisory Commission Monday evening. The commission meeting is slated to take place at 6:30 p.m. at 148 S. Wilson Street in Nipomo. The dispensary proposal could end up at the county Planning Commission and eventually at the Board of Supervisors.
