This is Gabe, a sweet 4 year-old, wire-haired fox terrier blend. He was found as a stray, and came to the Santa Maria Valley Humane Society after living in a foster home. Now he's looking for a forever home.
"He came in kind of shy and timid, but he's really come along, he plays along well with the other dogs, and he's really just a sweet heart," said Bobbi Gilman of SMVHS.
He enjoys being pet, and likes to be held... a little love goes a long way with Gabe.
"He walks well on a leash, he's playful, and he's just a joy to have around, and he's looking for a good new home," said Gilman.
And this is Puppy Junior, an energetic one year-old dachshund-chihuahua at Woods Humane Society.
"He's such a fabulous dog, I absolutely love him, he's such a cuddle monster," said Natosha Hoover of Woods Humane Society.
He's been at Woods since June of last year, and would be best in a home with older children -- he loves to play and run.
"I think it's because he has so much energy, he'd be a really great family dog," said Hoover.
Puppy Junior is crate trained, great with cats and other dogs.
And this beautiful face belongs to Chester, a chesapeake bay retriever at San Luis Obispo Animal Services.
"He's an energetic dog, he's seven years old, but he still has plenty of play left in him," said Andrea Liddie, shelter supervisor.
Chester's owners turned him in, because they didn't have enough time to spend with him. He's a friendly, sweet, dog, who loves to shake paws, and show plenty of affection.
"Just looking for someone who wants to have someone to go hiking with or running with, just spend time with him and burn off some energy," said Liddie.
