The Arroyo Grande City Council will hold a special meeting Wednesday night, to consider options for filling the vacancy left by the resignation of Council Member Ed Arnold.

After six years of service, Arnold resigned last week, saying he had become a distraction for the city.

In December, Arnold was arrested on domestic abuse and assault charges. Then earlier this month, prosecutors filed child pornagraphy charges against him. Investigators say he secretly videotaped a teenage girl in the shower at his home. Arnold has plead not guilty to all of the charges against him.

Wednesday night's meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 215 East Branch Street.
