The Arroyo Grande and San Luis Obispo High girls volleyball teams are set to face off Thursday night in their first of two Pac 7 League matches of the season. Both teams are undefeated in league matches after winning on Tuesday night.
The Tigers beat Paso Robles in four sets. San Luis Obispo won 25-14, 25-21, 17-25 and 25-16. Ariel Becker led the Tigers with 11 kills and 15 digs. Junior Casey Frost stepped in as setter and dished out 32 assists. Reigning Pac 7 MVP Maggie Eppright did not play in the match, while she nursed a sore ankle. Head coach Manuel Carter hopes to have her back for Thursday's home match against Arroyo Grande. The Tigers are 3-0 in league.
The Eagles swept Atascadero 25-14, 25-21 and 28-26. Millisa Morrow led the Eagles with 19 kills. Alyssa Koenig added 9, while Alaina Hogeboom recorded 32 assists. AG improved to 4-0 in league play.
Last year, the Tigers swept the Eagles to claim sole possession of the Pac 7 title. SLO shared the title with Paso Robles in 2010 to snap Arroyo Grande's streak of four-straight league titles.
SLO is ranked #3 this week in Division 2AA, while the Eagles are ranked #9.
