The Arroyo Grande High girls tennis team lost a combined total of twelve games in their Division 4 second round match of the CIF playoffs. The Eagles won at Oakwood 18-0 on Friday to move on to the quarterfinals for the second-straight year under head coach Lori Hollister.
The three-time reigning Pac 7 League champions are seeded #2 in the playoffs. The Eagles improved to 18-1 on the season and host Capistrano Valley Monday at 2pm in the quarterfinals.
Sophie Whittle, Lauren Hayashi and Alex Mero won all three of their singles sets 6-0, 6-0 and 6-0.
Alexa Flood and Chelsea Pudwill swept their doubles sets 6-2, 6-2 and 6-1, while Melina Rodgers and Joane Phung combined to win 6-3, 6-3 and 6-1.
The Eagles' #1 doubles team of Amber Domako and Zoe Miller played two sets together and won 6-0, 6-0. Domako, who's been nursing a shoulder problem, was replaced by Angelica Gagliano in the third set. Gagliano and Miller won 6-0.
AG won its first round match 17-1 over La Reina.
