AG water polo falls 12-6 in CIF semifinals

The Arroyo Grande High girls water polo team's quest for a fourth CIF title in the last six years came to an end in the semifinals on Wednesday. The Eagles, the #6 seed in Division 3, lost to #2 Los Osos 12-6 in Irvine.

The Eagles, who lost in the CIF championship game last year, finished the season with their tenth-straight Pac 7 League title and a 23-8 overall record.

Alexis Elias led AG with two goals. Rebekah Hernandez, Melanie Popovich, Morgan Clark and Isabella Manuelle had one goal apiece. Goalie Hannah Wadlow recorded 7 saves in the cage for the Eagles.

Los Osos is the same school that ended the AG boys water polo team's run in the semifinals back in November.
