Air quality alert remains in place for Santa Maria area

The Santa Barbara County Public Health Department and the Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District issued an Air Quality Watch for the Santa Maria area to be in effect through the weekend. High winds are forecasted at times and that may produce elevated particle levels, with the highest levels expected in the afternoon and early evening.

This Watch is only in effect for the Santa Maria area. Stronger winds may occur from time to time over the next several days, thus this Watch is in effect until Monday morning September 23.

Elsewhere the SLO County Air Pollution Control district also notes elevated particle pollution however it is still listed in the "good" category

Friday, Sep 20: 26 AQI Good Ozone
Saturday, Sep 21: 23 AQI Good Ozone
Sunday, Sep 22: 21 AQI Good Ozone
Monday, Sep 23: 24 AQI Good Ozone

The Air Quality Forecast is provided by the San Luis Obispo County Air Pollution Control District.
