The Santa Barbara County Public Health Department and the Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District issued an air quality watch for Northern Santa Barbara County. It will be in effect until Wednesday morning. The dry conditions and winds may result in elevated particles in the air in the northern part of the county, especially in Santa Maria. Winds are expected to kick up today in the afternoon and evening. If you happen to be in an area where there are high levels of dust in the air, limit time spent outdoors, especially if you have heart or lung disease.
