The Santa Barbara County Public Health Department and the Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District issued an Air Quality Watch warning Wednesday afternoon.
The watch is in effect until Thursday morning. They say air quality is poor in some areas due to smoke and ash from the Lookout Fire. They warn people with heart or lung disease to be especially careful and avoid being outside for extended periods of time.
Certain areas will have higher levels of smoke and particles depending on the change of winds and the movement of the fire. The departments say everyone should try to limit time outdoors. The Air Quality Watch can be extended if needed.
