A local community college is showing off its newly remodeled early childhood studies area.
The center at the Allan Hancock Campus in Santa Maria has a renovated kitchen, playground and new artwork.
Hancock students can enroll their children for childcare during their classes.
Child development students are able to get hands-on experience.
"We can best serve our students in providing opportunities for them to be able to work with children, young children, in a state-of-the-art facility, as well as incorporate the natural elements of an outdoor classroom," Program Director Yvon Fraizer says.
Funding for the project was made possible by Bond Measure I and the Orfalea Foundation.
