Students at Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria will start their spring semester with some tips on how to succeed in school.
The college hosted the Bulldog Bow-WOW Wednesday, which features many of the college's student services.
One of the groups at the event was College Achievement Now. The program serves students who are low-income, disabled or speak limited English. "I'm not sure if without the program they would be able to even graduate from Hancock College, or even transfer to a four year university," said the group's Director Francisco Dorame.
Dorame says after the first year of serving students, they will see forty graduate from Allan Hancock, partly in thanks to the unique tutoring experience they receive.
The program helps about 140 students every year.
